Why it matters

A watch without a story is an object.
With one, an inheritance.

01 · Provenance

The first thing a serious buyer asks for.

Who owned it, where it lived, what was done to it. In the secondary market, documentation adds more value than any polish. BezelPass keeps all of that in writing, signed and dated.

02 · Transfer

The day you sell it, you sell a record.

When the time comes to pass it on, the passport moves with the watch. The new owner inherits the entire file —photographs, services, previous owners— without you having to lift a finger.

03 · Deterrence

What's on the record is harder to move.

A serial number in a public, searchable registry is exactly the friction that bothers anyone trying to push a piece of doubtful origin. Your watch becomes a problem to fence.

How it works

Four steps. Once. For good.

01 Step one

You file the details.

Brand, reference, serial number, year, condition. Add the photographs that document the piece. Less than ten minutes.

02 Step two

You receive the certificate.

A careful PDF with every detail, a unique QR code and a permanent link to the public file in our registry.

03 Step three

You transfer it on sale.

Two clicks. The passport moves to the new owner. The full history travels with the piece. Your name stays in the archive.

04 Step four

Anyone can verify it.

Scan the QR code or type the reference into the public registry: the piece is confirmed to exist in our archive.

For collectors

The piece is yours.
So is the dossier.

A collector knows that the value of a watch isn't in the gold or in the complication: it's in the paper that goes with it. A lost invoice or an undocumented service can cost thousands at sale. BezelPass gives your collection what the original box no longer guarantees: a living archive, transferable and searchable.

We don't verify physical authenticity —that's the watchmaker's job— but we do keep a permanent record of everything you declare as owner. Your signed statement, dated, in a registry no one else can speak through.

For every piece that deserves a file
For watchmakers

For those who fix watches every single day.

Independent workshops and resellers use BezelPass Business to file every piece that passes through their hands. Each client gets a passport sealed with the workshop's name —which strengthens the sale and quietly builds the workshop's own reputation inside the public registry.

Questions

What people ask us first.

Does BezelPass verify that my watch is authentic?
No. BezelPass documents what you, as the owner, declare about the piece. We do not perform a physical inspection and we do not guarantee authenticity. Authentication is the job of a watchmaker, a specialised workshop or an auction house. What we do is keep a signed, dated, searchable record of everything you provide.
What exactly does the free plan include?
The digital file for the watch with every detail, a downloadable PDF certificate, a unique QR code, up to six photographs, and the permanent link to the piece in the public registry. It doesn't expire and we don't ask for a credit card.
How is the passport transferred when I sell the watch?
The official ownership transfer is part of the Premium plan (€9 one-off). From your dashboard you enter the buyer's email, confirm the sale, and the full file —including your name as a previous owner— moves to their account. Nothing in the history is lost; one more link is added.
Are my personal details published?
No. The public registry shows the piece's details (brand, model, reference, serial number, year, photographs and an anonymised chain of owners). Your full name, email and address stay on the private side of the file and are only visible to you and, if you transfer the watch, to the next owner.
What if I lose access to my account or change email?
You can recover access from the sign-in page with your registration email. If you've changed email, write to bezelpass@gmail.com with your passport number and supporting documentation; we migrate the file manually.
Is it useful for reporting a stolen watch?
BezelPass is neither an insurance product nor a police service, but the existence of a public record with your serial number and photographs is useful documentary evidence and makes resale through legitimate channels difficult. Treat it as a complement to, never a substitute for, your insurance and a formal report.
